Birakaya masala curry, Beerakaya Masala Curry Recipe
◆ Ridge gourd -1/2KG
◆ Onions - 1 cup finely chopped
◆ Tomatoes -3
◆ Tamarind
◆ Ground nut - 1cup
◆ Sesame seeds - 1 / 2 cup
◆ Ginger garlic paste -1/2 teaspoon
◆ Turmeric powder -1/2 teaspoon
◆ Salt
◆ Red chilli powder
◆ Oil
◆ coriander seeds powder -1/2 teaspoon
◆ Garammasala powder -1/2 teaspoon
◆ Curry leaves
◆ Red chillies - 2
◆Mustard seeds
◆Jeera
◆ Roast 1cup of ground nut and 1 / 2 cup of sesame seeds separately.
◆ Now take a mixie jar ,add the above roasted ground nut and sesame seeds, enough salt,red chilli powder, a bit of tamarind,half teaspoon of coriander powder and garam masala powder, 3 tomatoes ,enough water and grind it in to fine paste and keep aside. ( Add salt and red chilli powder which should be sufficient for the whole curry)
◆ Now grate the ridge gourd and cut in to long 2 inch pieces with a split in between.
◆ Place a pan on flame and add 5 tablespoons of oil, then add half teaspoon of jeera and mustard, 1 cup of finely chopped onions, 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste, curry leaves and mix well.
◆ Now add the above ridge gourd pieces and mix well, cook for 15 minuteson low flame with a lid on it.
◆ After 15 minutes open the lid and add the above prepared paste and mix well, let it cook for 5 minutes.
◆ Now add 1 glass of water and cook for another 5 minutes till it boils.
◆ If the curry starts boiling and the spills out,put off the flame and transfer in to a serving bowl.
◆ Good combination with all rice and roti varieties.
