Sweet Gavvalu- (Teepi Gavvalu Bellam)- Traditional Indian Andhra Telugu Vantalu

Sweet Gavvalu (Teepi gavalu) Ingredients:


▪ Maida -2 cups
▪ Bombay Rava -1cup
▪ Jaggery -1cup
▪ Dalda
▪ Oil
▪ Gavvala peeta(Available in market)

Procedure Sweet Gavalu:

◆ Take a bowl and add 2 cups of maida, 1 cup of bombay rava and mix thoroughly, heat 3 tablespoons of dalda and add to this, add required amounts of water and prepare dough which should not be either soft neither hard, let this dough ferment for 1 hour.
◆ Now make small balls of marble sized and keep aside.
◆ Take the gavvala peeta and press the small balls with your thumb and roll it down, repeat the above process with the remaining balls.
◆ Now place a pan on flame and add oil for deep fry, then fry all the prepared gavvalu till it changes to golden yellow colour and keep aside.
◆ Place a pan on flame and add 1 cup of jaggery and half cup of water to prepare thick syrup.
{To know the syrup is done , take a small bowl with water in it , add the syrup in it , if it is forming solid in water then thick syrup is done , if not let it boil for few more minutes }
◆ Now transfer the above fried gavvalu in the thick syrup and mix thoroughly.
◆ Let it cool for 10 minutes , then gavvalu are ready.
◆ This sweet can be preserved fresh for 1 week.
