Bellam pongali, Sweet pongali recipe preparation with Jaggery in telugu
Sweet Pongali (Bellam Ponal) Ingredients
◆ Rice - 1 cup
◆ Jaggery - 1cup
◆ Water -3 cups
◆ Elaichi powder -1 / 2 teaspoon
◆ Ghee - 4 tablespoons
◆ Cashews and Raisins
Procedure of Bellam Pongali | Sweet Pongali
◆ Soak rice in water for 1 hour and drain it.
◆ Take a deep large vessel and pour 3 cups of water and boil it.
◆ Now add the above soaked rice in the boiling water and cook it.
◆ Meanwhile fry the dry fruits in ghee and keep aside.
◆ When the rice is most of the part cooked,add 1 cup of jaggery and mix well,let it melt and completely dissolve with the rice.
◆ Cook on low flame with a lid closed on it.
◆ Now when the jaggery completely melts,mix once and add half teaspoon of elaichi powder and 4 tablespoons of ghee and mix thoroughly.
◆ Now put off the flame and add the above fried dry fruits and serve.
