◆ Red gram -1 cup
◆Onions - 1
◆ Tomatoes - 4
◆ Turmeric

◆ water -2 glasses
◆ Salt
◆ Jeera -1 teaspoon
◆ Mustard - 1 teaspoon
◆ Bengal gram - 1 teaspoon
◆ Black gram - 1 teaspoon
◆ Oil

◆ Red chillies
◆ Wash the red gram thoroughly with water.
◆ Take a pressure cooker and add 1 cup of washed red gram,cut onions and tomatoes and add to it.
◆ Now add half spoon of turmeric powder, enough red chilli powder according to your taste, a bit of tamarind,coriander leaves and 2 glasses of water.
◆ Close the pressure cooker and cook it on flame till you get 3-4 whistles.
◆ Let it cool down, then add enough salt and mash the boiled dal.
◆ Placea wok on flame and add 3tablespoons of oil, 1 teaspoon of jeera and mustard, curry leaves, 1 teaspoon of bengal gram and 1 teaspoon of black gram and 2-3 red chillies, then finely chopped garlic pieces, now put off the flame and transfer it to the above mashed dal.
◆ Now tomato pappu is ready to serve, tastes good with rice, chapattis. ◆ Add a dash of ghee if habituated which gives a yummy taste.
